Job description

Position: Software QA Engineer Work location: San Francisco, CA Wage: $151,147 - $165,000 / per year Job Duties: Develop and execute software tests to identify software problems and their causes. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Document software and application defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software or web developers. Create and maintain databases of known defects. Design and implement solutions to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of software applications. Identify and resolve software issues, system performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges. Perform software testing, validation, and automation to improve existing systems. Analyze user requirements, workflows, and system capabilities to enhance software functionality and ensure compliance with quality standards. Develop and execute test plans based on business requirements and functional specifications. Perform functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate new and existing functionalities. Automate test cases using tools like Selenium, Playwright to improve testing efficiency. Log, track, and manage software defects using JIRA ensuring timely resolution. Conduct performance and load testing using tools like Blazemeter. Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality best practices. Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve defects, ensuring software stability. Participate in code and test case reviews to improve software maintainability and quality. Develop and maintain documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and defect reports. Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content. Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers. Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, or usability. Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards. Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States. Telecommuting is permitted. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a computer software-related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires at least two (2) years of experience in each of the following skills: 1. Utilize knowledge of Playwright to perform Automation tests for Autodesk products like Autocad, Revit, Civil 3D. 2. Utilize knowledge of AWS S3 to store and manage large datasets, ensuring reliable and scalable storage for test results, logs, and other artifacts required for testing and analysis. 3. Utilize knowledge of MySQL, Snowflake, and Kinesis to design and execute database and integration tests, ensuring data integrity, seamless data flow, and accurate processing across systems, including ETL pipelines and real-time data streams. 4. Utilize knowledge of Agile methodologies to collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring the timely execution of tests and alignment with sprint goals and release cycles. 5. Utilize knowledge of CI/CD tools Jenkins to integrate automated tests for continuous delivery pipelines, ensuring consistent test execution and fast feedback cycles. 6. Proficient in using Blazemeter for cloud-based performance testing and load testing to simulate user traffic and assess the performance and scalability of web applications. 7. Utilize knowledge of API testing tools Postman to perform API testing, ensuring the reliability and security of web services by testing for correct functionality and performance under load. 8. Utilize knowledge of Scrum frameworks to facilitate team collaboration, manage sprint processes, and ensure continuous delivery of value. Position requires at least some experience in each of the following skills: 9. Utilize knowledge of programming languages Python, Java to write and maintain test automation scripts for functional and performance testing. 10. Utilize knowledge of version control systems Github to manage and version test scripts, ensuring collaboration with team members and maintaining an organized repository of testing assets. The starting base salary range for this role is reflected above. Salary is one part of Autodesks competitive package. Offers are based on the candidates experience and geographic location.
