Our client, a well-established and growing Naples organization, is seeking an experienced payroll administrator to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of the payroll function, helping employees with payroll-related questions, and working closely with a supportive finance team.

Responsibilities
- Own the organizations biweekly payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
- Review timekeeping information and employee records, making necessary adjustments for overtime, bonuses, differentials, corrections, and other payroll changes.
- Maintain payroll-related employee information, including tax elections, benefit deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, and other deductions.
- Research and resolve payroll questions and discrepancies, serving as a reliable resource for employees and management.
- Stay current with applicable payroll regulations and ensure payroll practices and tax filings remain compliant.
- Prepare year-end payroll information, including W-2s, reconciliations, corrections, and responses to government notices or audit requests.
- Reconcile payroll activity to the general ledger and prepare related journal entries and financial reports.
- Investigate discrepancies between payroll, accounting records, and system reports, identifying the underlying cause and helping implement solutions.
- Work with payroll and financial systems to troubleshoot issues involving tax calculations, deductions, account coding, and other system-related matters.
- Administer employee expense reimbursements, including mileage, tuition, and other approved expenses.
- Assist with the timely processing and verification of payroll tax obligations.
- Provide financial support related to funded programs, including billing, invoicing, reporting, and tracking the appropriate allocation of costs.
- Prepare recurring and special financial reports and assist the finance department with other accounting-related projects as needed.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized payroll documentation while protecting the confidentiality of sensitive employee and financial information.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to improve payroll processes, strengthen accuracy, and maintain effective internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting or Finance and 2+ years of relevant payroll experience or 5+ years of relevant payroll experience
- Strong hands-on experience with full-cycle payroll processing
- Solid understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Comfortable working with payroll and financial systems
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion
