Join this dynamic public company as a Staff Accountant supporting day-to-day accounting operations and contributing to accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you will cross-train on multiple GL areas, assist with month-end close, and gain hands-on exposure across the accounting function in an environment designed for career growth.
What You'll Actually Do:
- Assist the accounting team with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, preparing general ledger journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual GL account reconciliations (prepaids, intangibles, accruals) and daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
- Conduct month-end variance analysis and assist with intercompany transaction recording and reconciliations.
- Support external and internal audit requests while maintaining accurate documentation to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and SOX requirements.
- Collaborate across to resolve operational accounting issues and handle ad hoc finance projects.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
- Recent college graduate or up to 3 years of relevant accounting experience with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the confidence to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Where and How Much:
- Target Compensation: $60K to $70K, plus 5-10% discretionary bonus
- 100% In-Office, North Denver
