Job description
About Avalanche Capital
Avalanche Capital is a secondaries investment platform giving qualified investors access to the most sought-after private technology companies before they go public. We acquire positions in category-defining companies across AI, defense and infrastructure through dedicated SPVs and co-investment vehicles. We work with founders, early shareholders and GPs to provide liquidity, and with family offices and institutional investors to deploy capital into these opportunities. Our operations span the US, UK and Europe.
The Role
We are looking for a Head of Investor Relations to build and lead our investor base. You will own relationships with family offices, wealth managers, institutional allocators and high-net-worth investors seeking exposure to pre-IPO companies. You will be the person who ensures that every allocation we secure is matched with committed, high-quality capital. You will also build the long-term investor relationships that turn individual transactions into a repeatable programme.
What You Will Do
- Build and manage relationships with family offices, multi-family offices, RIAs, private banks and institutional investors
- Secure commitments for SPV and co-investment opportunities, from first conversation to close
- Develop a qualified investor network with a clear view of each investor's ticket size, sector appetite and decision process
- Lead investor communications, including opportunity memos, updates and periodic reporting
- Drive repeat participation and grow the share of capital committed by returning investors
- Work alongside the Venture Partner to align deal flow with investor demand
What You Bring
- 7+ years in investor relations, capital raising, private wealth, placement or investment banking
- Established relationships with family offices and allocators who invest in private markets, with personal access to decision-makers
- A track record of raising capital for private funds, SPVs or direct deals
- Strong understanding of private secondaries, pre-IPO investing and the expectations of sophisticated investors
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present complex opportunities clearly
- Relevant regulatory registrations or licences (FINRA Series 7/63/82, FCA or equivalent) are a strong advantage
What We Offer
- A leadership role building the investor franchise of a growing secondaries platform
- Competitive fixed compensation with meaningful performance-linked economics
- Direct access to differentiated deal flow in leading private companies
- A lean, entrepreneurial team where your contribution is visible and rewarded
You'll be taken to the employer's application page.
