The Department of Dermatology at our organization is on the lookout for both a general medical dermatologist and a pediatric dermatologist to enhance our expanding faculty. These roles provide an exceptional balance between work and personal life, with flexibility to align with each candidate's clinical passions and focus areas.

This environment allows physicians to concentrate on patient care while also engaging in academic pursuits, research, or program development. There are significant opportunities to influence and expand clinical specialties, including pediatric dermatology, within a prominent tertiary care facility.
Opportunity Highlights- Customize your position with a typical allocation of 80% clinical duties and 20% academic/research responsibilities.
- Focus primarily on outpatient clinical care, with the option to participate in inpatient dermatology consultations if desired. Pediatric dermatology candidates will have chances to collaborate with various pediatric subspecialties.
- Anticipate 7 half-day clinics weekly (28 patient hours), divided between the main dermatology clinic and the Iowa River Landing clinic. There is flexibility to arrange clinic hours according to personal interests, including pediatric dermatology, with the potential to increase hours for additional compensation.
- Incorporate procedural dermatology into your practice, including in-office procedures and dedicated procedural time, based on personal interest.
- Standard inpatient rotation is 1:12, with pediatric dermatology consult opportunities available for those interested or experienced in this area.
- Encounter a diverse range of cases, including complex and rare dermatological conditions, at Iowa's sole academic tertiary care hospital and its affiliated children's hospital.
- Participate in night and weekend call on a 1:16 rotation, with minimal overnight responsibilities and light weekend rounds.
