Position: Software Development Engineer Work location: Boston, MA Wage: $162,198 - $200,000 / per year Job Duties: Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Update software or enhance existing software capabilities. Design, code, test, debug, document and automate new and existing features. Work as an individual contributor and a collaborative team player. Gather requirements with product owners. Coordinate feature development with other teams. Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to highest standards. Engage the Dynamo community through online forums and industry conferences. Lead the design and development of Dynamos core desktop application ensuring performance, scalability, and maintainability. Architect and implement cloud-based services that extend Dynamos capabilities, including Dynamo Node AutoComplete and Dynamo Assistant. Oversee the development and optimization of the Dynamo Package Manager, enabling seamless distribution and management of extensions and libraries. Collaborate across cross-functional teams (design, product, QA, and research) to deliver new features aligned with customer and business needs. Integrate cloud technologies (AWS) and DevOps practices to enable continuous delivery, monitoring, and scaling of Dynamo services. Implement and manage security best practices, ensuring compliance with Autodesks security standards across desktop and cloud components. Contribute to architectural decisions and technical roadmaps for Dynamo and related components. Mentor and guide engineering teams by providing technical leadership, conducting code reviews, and driving engineering excellence. Define and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practices in .NET, Python, and cloud-native development. Collaborate with research teams to integrate AI/ML capabilities into Dynamo workflows, enhancing automation and intelligent graph orchestration. Lead performance profiling and optimization efforts across desktop and cloud environments, reducing execution time and resource consumption. Drive innovation through proof-of-concepts and prototypes, evaluating emerging technologies for integration into Dynamos ecosystem. Establish monitoring, logging, and incident response strategies to improve operational reliability and service uptime. Engage with the Dynamo user community and external developers to gather feedback, shape APIs, and support ecosystem growth. Some telecommuting is permitted. Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a software developer-related occupation. Special Requirements: Position requires at least three (3) years of experience in each of the following skills: 1. Utilize knowledge of Graph-Oriented Data Structures and Algorithms to manage citizen service workflows (birth/death certificates, permits, etc.); 2. Utilize knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript or Node.js Development to build client-side features and backend APIs in MVC web portals for e-governance solutions; 3. Utilize knowledge of .NET or C# Development with WPF and MVVM to design and maintain secure, high-traffic ASP.NET MVC applications; 4. Utilize knowledge of Distributed Architecture and Microservices to break down monolithic modules into modular, service-based components in citizen service portals; 5. Utilize knowledge of Automation, Testing, and CI/CD to create automated test scripts and integrate build systems into ASP.NET applications; 6. Utilize knowledge of Agile Methodologies, Project Tracking to manage tasks using defect-tracking tools for e-governance projects and practice structured sprint planning and agile ceremonies; 7. Utilize knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure and Distributed Hosting to optimize resource allocation for high-scale citizen portals; 8. Utilize knowledge of Python Development for automation, data transformation, and administrative scripts in e-governance applications; 9. Utilize knowledge of Geometry, Computational Design, and Performance Optimization to manage mapping logic in government service applications, and strengthen computational optimization in complex financial data structures; 10. Utilize knowledge of Cross-Platform Development, and Scripting (Windows/Linux/Cloud) to deploy and maintain ASP.NET applications on Windows IIS servers and integrate Linux-based utilities and scripts to support deployment pipelines.
