Job description
I.K. Hofmann USA has an immediate long-term contract opportunity for an experienced Supervisor/Cargo Builder at a cargo facility in Atlanta, GA. This position builds airline-ready pallets, handles freight, coordinates warehouse activities, and directs cargo team members.
Supervisor Responsibilities
• Assign daily work and coordinate team coverage.
• Monitor workflow, quality, and compliance with safety and cargo procedures.
• Provide direction, training, and coaching to cargo team members.
• Communicate operational concerns to management.
Cargo Responsibilities
• Build, secure, and prepare airline cargo pallets.
• Load and unload cargo on trucks.
• Operate a forklift as assigned.
• Perform warehouse duties as assigned.
• Communicate with teammates and warehouse personnel.
• Follow site, safety, security, and cargo-handling procedures.
Qualifications
• GED or high school education desired.
• Previous experience building cargo for an airline is required.
• Lead or supervisory experience in a warehouse or cargo environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, leadership, and safe work practices.
• Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Essential Functions
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Frequently moves and transports cargo weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally moves about inside the warehouse and office to access cargo shipments and airwaybills.
• Must be able to position self to operate warehouse equipment and secure cargo safely.
• Must be able to communicate with teammates and warehouse personnel and exchange accurate information.
Work Environment
• Often works indoors but may sometimes work outdoors.
• Sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures; workspaces may not be temperature-controlled.
• Occasionally works in extremely bright or dim lighting conditions.
• May be exposed to equipment, freight, and uncomfortable noise. Works near others.
Schedule
Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work different shifts as operational needs change. Overtime may be available based on business needs.
