A Day in the Life of the Outside Plant Technician: This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on maintaining and repairing aerial and underground coax and fiber infrastructure. The technician will work outdoors daily using bucket trucks, ladders, and hand tools to restore service, perform preventative maintenance, and support network reliability. The Broadband Network Technician I is responsible for detecting, troubleshooting and resolving system outages for data, video, and telephone. This role will be responsible for emergency restoration of coax, underground cable, maintenance of power supply, leakage and splicing. The BNT I is required to maintain documentation as needed. This role participates in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Detect, troubleshoot and resolve system outages in aerial and/or underground capacities related to transmission levels, signal losses and off-air interference. Development and organization of data, technology information and/or metrics to be delivered to audiences, including but not limited to upper management, team members, and vendor partners UAT/QA Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and performance tuning of IVA/Digital applications across various scenarios and channels. Identify and resolve complex issues, ensuring high availability and reliability. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Analyze conversation logs, user interactions, and feedback data to identify patterns, pain points, and opportunities for improvement. Proactively refine dialogue flows, add new intents, and enhance IVA capabilities based on data-driven insights. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications and contribute to the product roadmap for our Conversational AI initiatives. Partner with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive and user-friendly conversational interfaces. Work with data scientists to leverage advanced AI/ML models. Research & Innovation: Stay up to date on the latest advancements, trends, and best practices in Conversational AI, NLP, machine learning, and related emerging technologies, including the application of SLMs and other innovative models. What You'll Do Build and assemble custom car trailers Install and service: Hydraulic pumps Cylinders Hoses and valves Winch systems Sliding and movable decks Lift systems Electrical and control systems Fabricate and modify trailer components Perform trailer wiring and lighting installation Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical issues Read blueprints, schematics, and hydraulic diagrams Ensure trailers meet DOT and FMCSA safety standards Perform trailer repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance Work closely with the fabrication and production team to complete custom trailer builds What We're Looking For Experience with hydraulics a plus Trailer building or trailer mechanic experience preferred Mechanical, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills Must have a valid driver license Understanding of DOT trailer regulations and compliance Experience with: Hydraulic systems Winches Trailer wiring Air brake systems Welding and fabrication Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship CDL is a plus but not required Ideal Background Experience working on: Enclosed car haulers Rollbacks Heavy equipment trailers Hydraulic lift systems Custom fabrication projects Mobile hydraulic equipment Fleet trailers and transport systems Why Join Trailer Tech One?
