Haverford Township is seeking a skilled, motivated Electrician to maintain and repair Township facilities, street lighting systems, and critical public infrastructure. This position offers a unique opportunity to perform meaningful, hands-on work that directly impacts residents, businesses, parks, roadways, and community facilities throughout the Township.

What You'll Do

As the Township Electrician, you will:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair street lighting systems
• Maintain electrical systems in Township-owned buildings and facilities
• Diagnose and repair complex electrical systems, motors, control circuits, transformers, and related equipment
• Respond to emergency electrical outages and infrastructure issues
• Operate bucket trucks and specialized equipment
• Support snow and ice operations and emergency response activities
• Coordinate materials, inventory, and electrical supplies
• Assist with special community events and seasonal Public Works operations

No two days are the same. You'll work both independently and alongside a dedicated Public Works team to keep Township operations functioning safely and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

Successful candidates will have:

Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair experience

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)

Experience with underground and aerial street lighting systems

Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions

A strong work ethic and commitment to public service

High school diploma or equivalent

CDL Class B license or the ability to obtain one within six months of hire

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Monday through Friday
• 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• Rotating on-call responsibility and emergency response availability
• Overtime opportunities during emergencies, winter weather events, and special projects
