Microbiology Technician

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBioPhase Solutions specializes in recruiting top talented professionals for Southern California's Scientific community. We are currently looking for a Microbiology Technician to work for a Greater Los Angeles area cosmetics contract manufacturing company.
Pay Rate: $22-24/hour depending on experience. Must be flexible to work late hours and weekend as needed.
Summary: Responsible for all aspects of microbiological testing preparations, including but not limited to the following: performing routine cleaning and maintenance of the instruments, preparing all media, and reporting results. Responsible for obtaining samples and coordinating the timing and testing of each sample as described in the SOP.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare media and perform sterility and growth promotion tests prior to release of media for use.
• Assist with reporting results on lab notebooks, Certificates of Analysis, and other official release documents
• Develop and coordinate document control related to microbiological testing.
• Maintains and coordinates equipment calibration to support QC compliance in key aspects.
• Maintain various logbooks with departmental data.
• Maintain the monthly Environmental Monitoring program.
• Perform water sampling of the purified water system.
• Support the department by typing memos, reports and spreadsheets with distribution and filing as required.
• Email, fax or make telephone calls as needed.
• Understand, exercise and monitor all CGMP and PE/safety requirements and procedures in the work environment.
• Support other areas of QA/QC with clerical support as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related field preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience in OTC or cosmetic contract manufacturing
