Commercial Welders (Stick)

Leapros is seeking a skilled Welder for high-volume construction and capital projects in High Point, NC. In this role, you will perform essential pipe welding and assembly tasks to support the construction of large-scale commercial and industrial facilities. Pay up to $35 DOE.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual or semi-automatic equipment using Stick (SMAW) processes for carbon steel.
• Assist the construction team with the assembly of piping segments and the attachment of fittings.
• Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, and inspect workpieces to ensure all specifications and safety standards are met.
• Safely handle materials and equipment on the construction job site.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of pipe welding experience in a shop or field construction environment.
• Must be 6G certified or able to pass a 6G welding test.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Provide your own hand tools.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a 5-year background check and drug screen.

Nice to Haves

• Experience running screw pipe.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, and reach for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at waist height for short distances, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds overhead for short distances.
• Must be able to regularly carry and climb ladders up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to work in tight or confined spaces as conditions require.
• Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and recognize audible system signals.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers sufficient to operate hand tools and connect low-voltage wiring and devices.
• Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions on active commercial construction sites.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated compensation range for this position is based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
