Full-Time Experienced Position

Glass Flooring Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Welder / Shop Fabricator to join our fabrication team in Sparta, New Jersey.

We are looking for a skilled, dependable fabricator who can work independently, read fabrication drawings, accurately lay out work, and produce high-quality finished assemblies. Our projects are custom and architectural in nature, so attention to detail and pride in workmanship are extremely important.

Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG welding
  
  
• Fabrication of steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components
  
  
• Read and work from shop drawings, sketches, and fabrication details
  
  
• Accurately measure, lay out, cut, drill, grind, fit, and assemble components
  
  
• Operate saws, grinders, drills, fabrication equipment, and general shop tools
  
  
• Fit and weld custom frames and assemblies
  
  
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality finishes
  
  
• Inspect completed work for dimensions, fit, appearance, and weld quality
  
  
• Assist with material handling and general shop operations
  
  
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other fabricators on custom projects
  
  
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of welding and metal fabrication experience required
  
  
• Strong MIG welding skills; TIG experience highly desirable
  
  
• Experience working with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum required
  
  
• Ability to read shop drawings and understand dimensions and tolerances
  
  
• Strong layout and measuring skills
  
  
• Ability to fabricate a project from drawing through final assembly
  
  
• Experience with architectural or high-finish metal fabrication is a plus
  
  
• Ability to troubleshoot fabrication issues and think through custom work
  
  
• Dependable, organized, and able to work with limited supervision
  
  
• Strong attention to detail
  
  
• Commitment to producing clean, professional-quality work
  
  

What We're Looking For

This position is best suited for someone who considers themselves a fabricator first-not simply a production welder. Many of our projects are custom, and we need someone who can look at a drawing, understand what needs to be built, determine the fabrication sequence, and produce a finished product they are proud to put their name on.

Experience with architectural metalwork, railings, stairs, structural frames, glass-support systems, or other custom fabrication would be especially valuable.
