About the Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and experienced CPA to join our growing accounting team in Buffalo, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who wants to build a long-term career with a firm that values professional growth, leadership development, and work-life balance.

We are looking for someone with 3-8 years of public accounting tax experience who is eager to take ownership of client relationships, contribute to a collaborative team environment, and grow into a future leadership role within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review a wide variety of federal, state, and local tax returns
• Conduct tax research and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations
• Assist clients with tax planning strategies and year-round advisory services
• Work directly with individuals, businesses, and high-net-worth clients
• Identify tax-saving opportunities and proactively advise clients
• Collaborate with senior leadership on complex tax engagements
• Mentor and support junior accounting staff as you grow within the firm
• Maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and responsiveness

Required Qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• 3-8 years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines during busy seasons
• Leadership potential and desire to advance into management

Tax Forms & Filing Experience

Candidates should have hands-on experience preparing and reviewing tax forms commonly handled by experienced CPAs, including:

• Form 1040 - Individual Income Tax Returns
• Form 1120 - C Corporation Tax Returns
• Form 1120S - S Corporation Tax Returns
• Form 1065 - Partnership Tax Returns
• Form 1041 - Fiduciary & Estate Tax Returns
• Form 990 - Nonprofit Organization Returns (preferred)
• Multi-state tax filings
• Quarterly estimated tax payments
• Payroll and sales tax filings
• K-1 preparation and analysis
• Experience with depreciation schedules, fixed assets, and tax adjustments
