We are searching for a Bank Accountant to provide remote support for a financial institution. This role is contract-based and the engagement is expected to last until the beginning of 2027 with extension depending on management direction. The role requires experience in bank or credit union accounting.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review account reconciliations across multiple accounts and ledgers
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for accuracy and completeness
• Support internal and external bank audit processes, including documentation and evidence gathering
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Collaborate remotely with the finance/accounting team to support accurate, timely close processes
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and reporting as needed

Requirements

• Prior accounting experience within a bank or credit union environment required
• Experience with bank audit processes (internal or external)
• Demonstrated ability to review and reconcile account balances and financial statements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote role
• Availability for a contract engagement through at least the beginning of next year, with possible extension
