Position Title: Substitute Teacher
Location: Van Buren Local Schools / Van Buren, OH
Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call
Pay Rate: $105/Day
Pay increase available for long-term substitute assignments based on consecutive days worked
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic Substitute Teachers to support classrooms when regular teachers are absent. This role is essential in maintaining continuity of instruction by following lesson plans, supporting student learning, and helping sustain a positive and structured classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher
Maintain a safe, respectful, and orderly classroom environment
Provide clear instruction and academic support to students throughout the school day
Adapt to a variety of grade levels, subjects, and classroom settings as needed
Take attendance and complete required documentation accurately
Communicate professionally with school staff and administration
Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties
Required Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid Ohio substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (per state regulations)
Clean criminal background check with no disqualifying offenses
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow lesson plans and adjust to different classroom environments
Patience, professionalism, and a student-centered mindset
Compliance with the Ohio Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching, tutoring, or childcare experience
Familiarity with classroom management strategies
Experience working with diverse student populations
