Position Summary

Island Interiors at Ocean Reef, Inc. is seeking a part-time enthusiastic, customer-focused Retail Store Sales Specialist to join our team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving retail sales, maintaining merchandise displays, managing inventory, and supporting daily store operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong sales abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for merchandising and showroom presentation. This role is essential to creating a welcoming shopping experience while ensuring efficient inventory and retail operations.

Essential Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Service

Greet customers and provide professional, courteous assistance.
Respond promptly to sales inquiries in person, by phone, and via email.
Assist customers with product selection and purchasing decisions.
Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently.
Build and maintain positive customer relationships through exceptional service.

Merchandise & Inventory Management

Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming merchandise, including inventory and client-owned goods.
Verify merchandise received matches purchase orders and shipping documents.
Store merchandise appropriately and maintain accurate inventory records.
Monitor and maintain retail store and warehouse inventory levels.
Coordinate deliveries and transfers between the showroom, warehouse, and customer locations.
Coordinate repairs and touch-ups for stock merchandise when needed.

Visual Merchandising

Create and maintain attractive merchandise displays.
Price and tag merchandise accurately.
Ensure the showroom is clean, organized, and visually appealing.
Maintain product presentation standards throughout the retail space.
Assist with seasonal, promotional, and special event displays.

Store Operations

Maintain facility and office supply inventories.
Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of the first-floor retail showroom and related facilities.
Assist with general store operations and administrative tasks.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

Strong sales and customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
Basic computer proficiency and experience with point-of-sale systems.
Experience with billing, payment processing, and credit card transactions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage inventory and maintain accurate records.
Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous retail sales experience, preferably in furniture, home furnishings, interior design, or luxury retail environments.
Experience with inventory management systems.
Visual merchandising and product display experience.
Knowledge of home furnishings, dcor, and interior design products.
