JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and Bilingual (English/Spanish) Domestic Violence Counselor to join our team to provide trauma-informed counseling services to adult and adolescent clients who have experienced domestic violence. The counselor will deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, support crisis management efforts, and facilitate healing through individual and group counseling sessions. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and advocacy skills, cultural competence, and a deep commitment to empowering survivors on their path to recovery.

EXPECTED HOURS: This is a permanent full-time position designated for 40 hours per week:

Tuesday Thursday: 12 PM 8 PM
Friday: 10 AM 6 PM
Saturday: 8 AM 4 PM

PAY: $23.39 per hour

WORK LOCATION: Rochelle, IL 61068

DUTIES

- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing evidence-based practices tailored to diverse client needs.

- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to manage situations effectively while maintaining client safety and well-being.

- Develop personalized service plans aligned with the best practices in social work and mental health counseling.

- Facilitate intake processes.

- Collaborate with teams

- Support clients through crisis management strategies

- Participate in telehealth counseling sessions utilizing telehealth platforms to expand access for clients unable to attend in-person appointments.

EXPERIENCE

- Proven experience in counseling within behavioral health, mental health, or social work settings.

- Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.

- Strong background in crisis management, behavior management, case management, and client care within diverse populations.

- Experience providing trauma-informed care.

REQUIREMENTS

- Willingness to submit to a LEADS Criminal Background Check with specifications and a CANTS (DCFS) background check.

- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA).

- Completion of (or willingness to complete) the 40-Hour Domestic Violence Training.

- Ability to drive a car and maintain auto insurance.

- Ability to use a computer, standard phone equipment, and electronic office equipment.
