Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Crate Builder to support a manufacturing operation by constructing wooden containers used to package machinery, equipment, and components for domestic and international shipments.

This position requires previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment, strong carpentry skills, and the ability to safely operate hand and power tools. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working from measurements and instructions to build custom crates designed to properly protect large manufactured products during transportation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and assemble wooden crates, containers, skids, and related packaging for machinery and manufactured components.
• Measure products and determine appropriate crate dimensions.
• Prepare, secure, and package products for domestic and international shipment.
• Read and follow work instructions, measurements, and specifications.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations related to dimensions and material requirements.
• Cut, drill, sand, plane, and shape wood using various carpentry tools and equipment.
• Operate saws, drill presses, planers, sanders, routers, and other hand and power tools.
• Inspect completed crates to ensure products are properly secured and protected.
• Safely operate a forklift when moving materials or completed shipments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all manufacturing safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing, industrial, or production experience is required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience constructing, maintaining, or repairing wooden structures, crates, fixtures, or similar products.
• Strong experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Previous forklift operating experience is required.
• Ability to safely perform physical work involving lifting, bending, standing, and handling materials.
• Valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
