Job description

Job Description

Carolina PRG is partnering with a manufacturing company to identify a hands-on Human Resources Manager. This individual will oversee day-to-day HR operations, support employees and leadership, and help maintain effective HR processes.

The ideal candidate enjoys being actively involved in all aspects of HR, is comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and can balance employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and HR administration. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the business, building relationships with employees, and making a direct impact on daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily HR operations, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and workplace concerns.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
  • Partner with leadership on staffing needs, workforce planning, and employee retention.
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts, interviews, offers, and onboarding for hourly and salaried employees.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave programs, and workers' compensation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and personnel documentation.
  • Support payroll processes, timekeeping, and employee compensation changes.
  • Assist with employee training, performance reviews, and development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, policies, and overall employee experience.
  • Partner with plant leadership to support a positive, safe, and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Human Resources, preferably within a manufacturing, industrial, or similar operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, HR compliance, benefits administration, and general HR operations.
  • Experience supporting hourly and salaried employees.
  • Ability to independently manage day-to-day HR responsibilities and handle sensitive employee matters.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working directly with employees, supervisors, and senior leadership.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM or PHR certification is a plus.

What We're Looking For

  • A hands-on HR professional who enjoys being involved in daily operations rather than working solely at a strategic level.
  • Someone approachable who can build trust with employees while maintaining professionalism and accountability.
  • A proactive problem solver who can work independently and take ownership of HR responsibilities.
  • Someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys partnering closely with operational leadership.
