Job description
Quality & Customer Support Coordinator
Supports: Quality Manager and Account Executive
Location: Montebello, CA
Pay $27.00
Position Summary
The Quality & Customer Support Coordinator supports both the Quality Manager and the Account Executive, and serves as the customer-facing contact when there is a quality or order issue. This role does not perform inspections; it requires enough quality background to understand inspection reports, tolerances, and certifications, and to explain issues to customers accurately, professionally, and with clear next steps.
Essential Functions
Customer Communication on Quality & Order Issues
Contact customers promptly to notify them of nonconforming, damaged, undersized/oversized, or delayed material or orders, explaining what happened, the impact, and next steps in clear, factual terms.
Confirm the facts with the Quality Manager and production before contacting the customer, including PO, part, quantity, and measurements.
Work with the Quality Manager and Account Executive to arrange resolution (replacement material,
rework, revised delivery dates, documentation); commitments involving cost, credit, or replacement
require management approval.
Follow up with customers until each issue is resolved, and document all communications and outcomes.
Respond to customer quality inquiries and requests for certifications, inspection reports, and corrective
action documentation.
Read and understand inspection reports, test reports, material certifications, heat/lot numbers, and
tolerances in order to accurately relay information to customers.
Assist the Quality Manager with nonconformance and corrective action records, tracking open items and
customer responses.
Maintain organized customer quality files and assist with keeping ISO records audit-ready.
Account Executive Support
Assist with entering and verifying customer purchase orders, quotes, credit reference inquiries, and order
status updates.
Coordinate with Production, Shipping/Receiving, and Accounting to keep customer orders on schedule
and accurately documented.
Prioritize competing requests from the Quality Manager and Account Executive, escalating conflicts in
priority to management.
Background & Qualifications
Working knowledge of manufacturing quality, including reading inspection reports, understanding
tolerances, certifications, and material traceability; ISO 9001/AS9100 familiarity preferred.
Customer-facing experience, including handling difficult or sensitive conversations with composure and
professionalism.
Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and computer proficiency.
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including occasional time on the shop floor.
Ability to stay calm, accurate, and organized when managing multiple issues and deadlines.
Work Environment
Primarily an office setting, with occasional visits to the machine shop floor; PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe
footwear) required in shop areas.
