Accounting Specialist

FG Construction is seeking a detail oriented Construction Accounting Specialist to support the Controller with day to day accounting operations, construction job costing, project billing, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has experience with construction accounting, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Maintain and review job cost records for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, project cost tracking, and profitability reporting. Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with month-end closing. Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, AIA billing, and subcontractor documentation. Review project expenses for accuracy and proper job cost allocation. Assist with payroll cost allocations, certified payroll documentation, and 1099 reporting, as applicable. Generate accounting and job cost reports using Sage 100 Contractor. Maintain accurate financial records and assist with resolving accounting discrepancies. Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Controller. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred. Construction accounting or job costing experience strongly preferred. Experience with Sage 100 Contractor is a plus. Familiarity with WIP schedules, AIA billing, lien waivers, and subcontractor compliance preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with accounting and operations teams.
