We're partnered with a quantitative trading firm looking to add a Trade Support Engineer to its Chicago team, supporting the technology and operational infrastructure behind live trading.

This role sits directly on the front line of the trading environment, working closely with traders, developers, quantitative researchers, exchanges, and clearing partners. You'll be responsible for keeping production systems stable throughout the trading day, troubleshooting issues in real time, and improving operational processes through scripting and automation.

What you'll do:

• Monitor live production trading systems and respond to alerts and incidents in real time

• Troubleshoot and resolve application, operating system, trade, and position issues

• Deploy and configure proprietary and third-party trading applications

• Investigate trade breaks and support trade capture, reconciliation, and other operational workflows

• Build scripts and tooling to automate repetitive support and troubleshooting processes

• Work closely with traders, developers, exchanges, clearing firms, and technology vendors

• Support risk and compliance reporting and occasionally assist with trading desk or datacenter hardware

• Participate in early market-open coverage and an on-call / weekend rotation

Looking for:

• 2+ years of experience in Trade Support, Trade Operations, Application Support, or a similar production-support environment

• Strong hands-on experience with both Linux and Windows systems

• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies

• Working knowledge of SQL for investigating trade, position, and reference data

• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications and operating systems

• Ability to diagnose and resolve production issues calmly in time-sensitive environments

• Strong communication skills and experience working across technical and business teams

• Ability to work on-site in Chicago and participate in early-hours and on-call coverage

• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization without current or future sponsorship requirements
