Job Title: HR Manager Compensation Benefits - Benefits & Retirement / Pension Regulatory Filings

Location: Charlotte NC USA 28202

Pay Rate: $56/hour on W2

1st shift Monday-Friday 8-5 Hybrid 3 onsite- 2 remote


Must Have- Capable of independently managing and coordinating the full end-to-end regulatory compliance reporting process. This includes demonstrating the knowledge, experience, and technical expertise necessary to oversee and ensure the accurate and timely filing of:

• IRS Form 5500

• SEC Form 11-K

• IRS Forms 1094-B and 1094-C

• IRS Forms 1095-B and 1095-C


Job Summary

Independently manages regulatory compliance for U.S. retirement (DB/DC), VEBA, and Health & Welfare Benefit Plans. Responsible for preparation and coordination of all required filings (e.g., IRS Form 5500, SEC Form 11-K, IRS Forms 1094 B/C and 1095 B/C, state disability filings) and ensuring adherence to ERISA and related regulatory requirements. Works cross-functionally to maintain compliance, mitigate risk, and ensure audit readiness and completeness.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the preparation, coordination, and submission of IRS Form 5500 filings (including schedules) across all benefit plans
  2. Support SEC Form 11-K filings and ensure alignment with financial disclosures
  3. Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, state disability regulations
  4. Maintain and update Summary Plan Descriptions, ACA Summary of Benefits and Coverage, and required disclosures
  5. Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to policies, processes, and documentation
  6. Maintain a compliance calendar to track regulatory deadlines and deliverables
  7. Partner with TPAs, auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submissions
  8. Support internal and external audits; manage findings and remediation activities
  9. Analyze and validate plan data to ensure integrity across filings and documentation
  10. Drive process improvements and compliance reporting metrics


Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
  2. 3+ years of experience in Accounting and Auditing (preferably experience with public company financial statements)
  3. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  4. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with high accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience in benefits compliance, ERISA, or retirement/health & welfare plans
  2. Experience managing or supporting IRS Form 5500 filings
  3. Knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations (ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA)
  4. Experience supporting SEC Form 11-K filings
  5. Familiarity with ACA reporting (IRS Forms 1094 B/C and 1095 B/C)
  6. Experience supporting audits for employee benefit plans
  7. Experience with HRIS or benefits platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP)

  1. Independently executes compliance activities across multiple benefit plans
  2. Primarily responsible for completing all audits prior to regulated deadlines, including audit of retirement plan financial statements
  3. Direct impact on regulatory compliance, audit outcomes, and risk mitigation
  4. Ensures timely and accurate external filings to regulatory agencies
  5. Supports enterprise compliance with governance processes

Hybrid - with collaboration across HR, Legal, Finance, and external vendors
