Structural Welder - MIG & Flux

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience
Shift: Day and Night Shifts Available
Night Shift Differential: Additional 10%

Welding Test: 3G and 4G. MIG root pass, FLUX fill and cap

Job Summary:
The Structural Welder will weld and assemble structural steel components used in industrial equipment and fabricated assemblies. The ideal candidate has hands-on structural welding experience, can read fabrication drawings, and is comfortable working in a production fabrication environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Weld structural steel components using MIG and flux-cored welding processes.
  • Set up and adjust welding machines according to material and job requirements.
  • Read and follow blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, grinding, and fitting.
  • Select the appropriate wire, filler material, and welding settings.
  • Inspect completed welds for proper appearance and quality.
  • Use hand and power tools for grinding, cutting, and material preparation.
  • Follow production and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and required PPE guidelines.
  • Perform other related fabrication duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of structural welding or heavy fabrication experience.
  • Hands-on experience with MIG and/or flux-cored welding.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols.
  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication and welding practices.
  • Ability to set up and adjust welding equipment.
  • Ability to perform quality visual inspections of completed welds.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a welding test before placement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working around heat, welding fumes, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
  • Must wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
  • Ability to work extended shifts and overtime when required.
