Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst - Commercial Finance & Pricing

Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to play a key role in pricing strategy, financial forecasting, and profitability analysis. This opportunity is ideal for an analytical finance professional who enjoys working beyond traditional reporting, partnering with cross-functional teams, and directly influencing business decisions.

Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future. Our client is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship for this position.

In this role, you'll evaluate new business opportunities, analyze manufacturing costs, support commercial quoting, and identify ways to improve margins and overall profitability. You'll work closely with Finance, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to ensure pricing decisions are supported by accurate financial data.

Key Focus Areas

  • Commercial Finance & Pricing: Evaluate quotes, pricing assumptions, and profitability to support competitive, financially sound business decisions.
  • Cost & Margin Analysis: Assess manufacturing costs, identify margin risks, and uncover opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Develop pricing scenarios, evaluate business opportunities, and support financial planning.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with commercial and operational teams to validate costs and influence business decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze customer quotes and new business opportunities to assess profitability, margins, and financial risk.
  • Build financial models and pricing scenarios to evaluate cost changes, business opportunities, and profitability targets.
  • Review manufacturing cost assumptions, including materials, labor, overhead, scrap, tooling, freight, and capital investments.
  • Identify pricing gaps, cost inconsistencies, and opportunities for margin improvement.
  • Compare quoted costs and assumptions against actual performance to improve future pricing accuracy.
  • Evaluate customer, product, and program profitability and recommend opportunities for cost recovery.
  • Support quarterly forecasting, annual budgeting, and commercial financial planning.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to understand cost drivers and validate financial assumptions.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear recommendations that support business growth and profitability.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, commercial finance, pricing, quoting, cost analysis, or manufacturing finance.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookup functions, scenario analysis, and large data sets.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with commercial quoting, pricing strategy, product costing, or margin analysis.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing cost structures, including direct materials, labor, overhead, tooling, and freight.
  • Experience analyzing customer or program profitability in a manufacturing environment.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • Business Impact: Help shape pricing decisions and protect profitability across new and existing business.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Work directly with Finance, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Analytical Ownership: Go beyond reporting to develop financial recommendations that influence business decisions.
  • Broad Finance Exposure: Gain involvement in commercial finance, financial modeling, forecasting, costing, and profitability improvement.

If you're a Senior Financial Analyst, Commercial Finance Analyst, Pricing Analyst, or Manufacturing Financial Analyst looking to apply your financial expertise to meaningful business decisions, we encourage you to apply!
