Position: Materials Science Expert
Type:Contract
Compensation:$60-$120/hour
Location:Remote
Role Responsibilities
- Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI-generated content in materials science to strengthen reasoning and rigor in model outputs.
- Review model-written structure-property reasoning to ensure microstructure explains the property and characterization supports the claim.
- Flag where a model's proposed material meets specifications on paper but fails in service due to fatigue, corrosion, or thermal cycling.
- Develop clear, structured feedback to improve AI model performance and training data quality.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure consistency and relevance across datasets.
- Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while improving AI model performance.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Graduate degree in materials science or a related field.
- Clear written communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguous tasks and willingness to flag unclear instructions.
