Key Responsibilities Of This Sr Accountant:
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations, including invoice review and processing, vendor disbursements, purchase order matching, credit memo management, accrual tracking, and account reconciliations.
- Support and administer employee travel and expense programs while ensuring adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Manage company credit card activity, monitor spending, address transaction issues, and prepare related reports.
- Coordinate vendor setup and maintenance activities, including validation of banking details, tax forms, and approval requirements.
- Execute domestic and international payment transactions through ACH, wire transfers, checks, and online banking systems.
- Assist with month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, aging reports, and AP-related analyses.
- Investigate and resolve payment, vendor, employee, and banking inquiries while working closely with internal departments and external partners.
- Contribute to 1099 reporting, audit support, tax documentation processes, and compliance initiatives.
- Participate in ERP system enhancements, automation efforts, workflow improvements, and continuous process development projects.
- Recommend and implement improvements that increase operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and enhance the experience of both vendors and employees.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable, procure-to-pay operations, expense administration, or general accounting.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, expense management systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel functions.
- Prior experience within biotechnology, life sciences, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or another regulated industry is highly desirable.
- Familiarity working within a publicly traded company, SOX-compliant environment, or similarly regulated organization.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, accrual accounting, month-end close activities, internal controls, and compliance standards.
- Experience handling both domestic and international payments, including ACH transactions and wire transfers.
