Location: On-site in Coldwater, Michigan

Step up from invoice processing to a Staff Accountant role that owns both payables and receivables, monthly reconciliations and journal entries included.

As Staff Accountant at Asama Coldwater Manufacturing, you will manage payables and receivables for multiple locations. Your days cover the full cycle: coding and processing invoices, running the weekly check run, working with vendors, and finishing each month with reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries. What You'll Do

Accounts Payable

• Code and process supplier invoices accurately and on time, every day
• Obtain the proper approvals before invoices are paid
• Scan and index supplier invoices
• Process the weekly check run, including mailing checks to suppliers
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Correspond with vendors and answer their questions
• Maintain the company credit card system

Accounts Receivable

• Process customer invoices daily
• Obtain the proper documentation for each shipment
• Scan and index shipping documentation
• Code invoices accurately and on time

Monthly and Ongoing

• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare monthly accruals and journal entries
• Take part in continuous improvement activity
• Help with other accounting tasks as assigned

Required:

• Associate's degree in accounting, bookkeeping, or another relevant field
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organization skills
• Clear, professional communication, including under pressure
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Comfortable going out to the production floor

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a similar role, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, accounting clerk, or bookkeeping
