We are looking for a detail-oriented, entry level Fund Accountant to join our team in Boston, Massachusetts on a Long-term Contract/Contract to Hire basis. This on-site position plays an important role in supporting mutual fund operations by helping maintain accurate valuation data, monitoring investment guideline adherence, and preparing core financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to work carefully within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.


Responsibilities:

• Monitor portfolio activity to help ensure funds remain aligned with established investment restrictions and compliance guidelines.

• Calculate fund distributions accurately and in accordance with reporting timelines and applicable standards.

• Prepare billing forecasts, recurring billings, and other accounting-related projections to support operational planning.

• Produce monthly financial statements and supporting schedules with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.

• Create and maintain reports related to fund performance, accounting activity, and financial reporting requirements.

• Review and update security reference data used in the daily valuation process for mutual funds.

• Support daily valuation activities by validating records and identifying discrepancies that may affect pricing or reporting.

• Work on-site five days per week and provide coverage during assigned business hours to support team operations.

• Experience in fund accounting, senior accounting, or a related financial reporting role.
• Working knowledge of mutual funds, security data review, and valuation support processes.
• Familiarity with compliance monitoring and investment restriction oversight.
• Ability to prepare monthly financial statements, projections, and billing-related documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and review skills with close attention to detail.
• Proficiency in handling financial reports and reconciling data in a deadline-driven environment.
• Capability to work effectively in an on-site setting in Boston, Massachusetts five days per week.
