About the Opportunity
Seeking an experienced Industrial Refrigeration Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial equipment.
This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a strong background in refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical troubleshooting who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and field service.
The ideal candidate can work independently, diagnose complex equipment issues, and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration equipment.
- Identify and resolve refrigeration, electrical, electronic control, and mechanical issues.
- Troubleshoot three-phase electrical systems, including 208V, 240V, and 480V power.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and use electrical meters and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, component replacements, and service repairs.
- Provide remote troubleshooting and determine when onsite service is necessary.
- Respond to scheduled and emergency service calls.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule, including after-hours and weekend coverage as required.
- Document work performed, parts used, and recommended follow-up repairs.
- Follow established electrical safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and appropriate PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- EPA Section 608 Type II certification is required.
- Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing refrigeration or HVAC systems.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including three-phase power and control circuits.
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and safely use electrical meters and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical safety procedures, LOTO, and PPE requirements.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work independently in both shop and field service environments.
- Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours service needs.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial or industrial refrigeration experience.
- Experience with industrial HVAC systems and electrical controls.
- Familiarity with transport refrigeration equipment.
- Experience with generator sets, transformers, or related electrical systems.
- Manufacturer-specific refrigeration training or certifications.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Regular weekday schedule.
- Rotating on-call coverage for after-hours and weekend service needs.
- Opportunities for overtime based on operational requirements.
- A combination of shop-based troubleshooting and field service work.
Candidates should be comfortable responding to service needs, working independently, and maintaining safe working practices while operating a company vehicle.
