Pay: up to $50-65/hour

Position Overview

A well-established HVAC company in Baldwin, NY is seeking an experienced HVAC Lead Service Tech/Supervisor with 10+ years of hands-on HVAC experience to lead and support a team of technicians.

This is a working supervisory position. The HVAC Service Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing technicians, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting complex HVAC issues, and ensuring service work is completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards. The ideal candidate is a strong technician who has developed the leadership skills necessary to mentor and manage others while remaining hands-on in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, lead, and support a team of HVAC service technicians
• Perform hands-on HVAC service, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical HVAC issues
• Provide technical guidance and assistance to technicians in the field
• Conduct quality-control checks to ensure work is completed properly
• Assist technicians with difficult service calls and troubleshooting
• Assign and coordinate daily service work and priorities
• Monitor technician performance, productivity, and work quality
• Train and mentor technicians on proper service procedures and best practices
• Ensure technicians follow company safety procedures and applicable codes
• Communicate with customers regarding service issues and recommended solutions when necessary
• Review service calls, work orders, parts requirements, and technician reports
• Help ensure vehicles, tools, and equipment are properly maintained
• Work closely with management to address technical, customer, and operational issues

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional HVAC service experience
• Previous experience supervising, leading, or mentoring HVAC technicians
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, electrical components, and mechanical systems
• Ability to diagnose and repair complex HVAC issues independently
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to train, coach, and hold technicians accountable
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
• EPA 608 certification required
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• HVAC license/certification preferred
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team
