Job description

Job Description Job Description A day in this role

You start your shift by reviewing engineering drawings and work instructions, planning how each metal component will come together. You build or adjust a fixture, set up your TIG or MIG equipment, and select the right consumables for aluminum, carbon steel, or stainless. With careful attention to detail, you run precise beads, verify measurements, and check your work against blueprints to hit spec the first time.

Throughout the day, you move between fabrication and welding, using manual metalworking tools to prep edges, deburr, and fit. You collaborate with the sheet metal department when they need a hand and pitch in across manufacturing as priorities shift. You wrap up by inspecting final parts, documenting results on a computer, and staging the next job so tomorrow starts smoothly.

What you'll do
  • Manufacture and fabricate metal products to specification.
  • Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless materials.
  • Create and set up fixtures to ensure repeatable, accurate parts.
  • Read and follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Support the sheet metal department as needed.
  • Assist broader manufacturing operations as requested.
What you bring
  • Commitment to excellence and quality workmanship; you set a high bar for yourself.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride in precise results.
  • Dedication to your craft and the drive to see tasks through from start to finish.
  • Independence and self-motivation-you manage your time and workflow effectively.
Qualifications
  • No formal education required if you demonstrate the necessary manufacturing skills.
  • Certifications: D1.1 and D17.1.
  • Proficiency setting up and operating welding equipment.
  • Understanding of key welding variables and how to optimize or mitigate them for quality results.
  • Ability to operate manual metalworking equipment.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and routine tasks.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for a full 8-hour shift.
