We are currently hiring for an Electrician. The description below is for a generalized Maintenance Tech.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems in a unionized manufacturing environment. This role supports safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations by maintaining electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. All work is performed in accordance with company policies, safety requirements, and the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment including conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains, valves, and compressors.
  • Perform precision mechanical repairs such as shaft alignment, bearing replacement, lubrication, and component rebuilds.
  • Support mechanical installation, modification, and upgrade of production equipment.

Electrical Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, starters, relays, sensors, switches, and control panels.
  • Perform basic electrical diagnostics on AC/DC systems and low voltage controls.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Assist with PLC inputs/outputs, instrumentation, and basic control troubleshooting (as qualified and assigned).
  • Ensure electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with company standards and OSHA regulations.

Plumbing & Facility Maintenance

  • Perform maintenance and repair of facility plumbing systems including water lines, drains, fixtures, valves, pumps, and compressed air systems.
  • Troubleshoot leaks, clogs, pressure issues, and piping failures.
  • Assist with installation and maintenance of facility utilities and infrastructure.

Preventive Maintenance

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, damage, and failure risks; recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all plant safety rules, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform work in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard free work areas.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, inspections, and reports accurately and timely using CMMS or manual systems.
  • Document repairs performed, parts used, labor hours, and equipment condition.

Union Environment Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), job classifications, work rules, and seniority provisions.
  • Follow established procedures for work assignments, shift schedules, overtime, and call ins.
  • Work collaboratively with union coworkers, supervisors, and leadership to support plant operations.

Other Duties

  • Assist with shutdowns, changeovers, and special maintenance projects.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned in support of production and maintenance operations.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical, vocational, or trade school training in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or Plumbing disciplines preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 2-5 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical, mechanical, and/or plumbing maintenance.
  • May require certification or license in specific skill trade
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Basic computer skills for CMMS, documentation, and work orders.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Work performed in a manufacturing and industrial facility.
  • Exposure to machinery, electrical systems, noise, dust, chemicals, and varying temperature conditions.
  • Requires physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • May require overtime, shift rotation, or weekend work based on operational needs.

Licensing, Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license if required for job duties.
  • Must be able to successfully pass pre employment and ongoing background checks and drug testing in accordance with company policy, union agreements, and applicable laws.
  • Must be certified or license in area of need for HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical
