Job description

Job Description Job Description Role Snapshot

Join our team as the go-to expert who keeps production running smoothly overnight. This is a night-shift position with flexibility on start and end times.

A Night in the Life

You start by walking the floor, comparing what you see against schematics and manuals. You listen for the faint change in a motor's hum, check readings with electrical and electronic test instruments, and confer with managers about any operational quirks that could point to a root cause.

When issues surface, you tear down defective equipment with precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools, replace or install parts to blueprint specifications, then bring systems back online. Between calls, you clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other moving components to keep everything in peak condition.

What You'll Work On
  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, piping, and electrical systems in alignment with specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings.
  • Visually inspect and test equipment using electrical/electronic test gear; detect malfunctions by listening for unusual sounds and collaborating with managers to diagnose issues.
  • Dismantle faulty machines and install new or refurbished parts using precision measuring tools and hand/power tools.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and related machine components.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus (including transformers and wiring) as well as electrical and electronic components on production equipment.
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and associated hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair/replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related devices.
  • Repair and maintain the facility's physical structure.
  • Install new equipment and machinery per blueprints and other specifications, using hoists, cranes, and appropriate rigging as needed.
  • Install, program, and repair automated machinery and equipment that utilize programmable controllers.
  • Use cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricate and repair benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance across the manufacturing facility and update records in PM software.
Tools & Methods

You'll rely on hand and power tools, hoists, cranes, and a full range of measuring and testing instruments while interpreting blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
