Step into a shop that values precision and momentum. As a MIG/FCAW Production Welder in Louisville, KY 40223, you'll be the craftsperson turning prints into high quality, finished parts-every shift, every run.
A Day in the LifeYou arrive for 1st shift at 6:00 AM, power up your weld cell, verify your setup, and review the day's blueprints. You dial in your parameters, run sample beads, and document settings before moving into steady production. Between runs, you collaborate with teammates to solve issues, keep the area safe and organized, and inspect parts to ensure they match spec-down to the last detail. At 2:30 PM, you leave your station clean and ready for the next day.
What You'll Do- Set up and operate welding equipment for repeatable, high-quality production runs.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to lock in specifications and weld symbols.
- Perform MIG and Flux-Cored Arc welds across a range of materials.
- Inspect finished components to verify quality and conformance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with peers to improve throughput and consistency.
- Troubleshoot weld issues and assist in root-cause resolutions.
- Hands-on experience setting up weld cells for production.
- Strong blueprint and technical drawing interpretation skills.
- Proficiency with MIG and Flux-Cored Arc welding techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.
