Position Summary
Position Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Combo Welder with strong industrial welding and fabrication experience. The ideal candidate will be capable of performing multiple welding processes and working with carbon steel and alloy materials in demanding industrial environments.
- The Combo Welder must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding procedures, and technical drawings and demonstrate a strong understanding of welding safety, quality requirements, and industry standards.
- Perform welding, fabrication, fit-up, and repair work on industrial equipment, piping, components, and structures.
- Perform welding using TIG/GTAW and Stick/SMAW processes.
- Weld carbon steel and alloy materials, including Inconel when required.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, drawings, and welding procedures.
- Perform proper weld preparation, fit-up, preheating, and post-weld activities as required.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Use welding machines, grinders, cutting equipment, measuring tools, and other hand and power tools.
- Maintain proper welding parameters and follow approved welding procedures.
- Work safely while following all company, client, and site safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work effectively with Millwrights, Machinists, Pipefitters, Fitters, and other craft personnel.
- Minimum 3-5 years of industrial welding experience preferred.
- Strong experience with TIG/GTAW and Stick/SMAW welding processes.
- Experience welding carbon steel is required.
- Experience with Inconel or other alloy materials preferred.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Ability to perform quality fit-up and welding with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of welding safety and industrial work practices.
- Must be able to pass required welding qualification testing.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and varying schedules as project requirements dictate.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials and welding equipment as required.
- Ability to work in industrial environments and potentially in confined or elevated areas.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including welding hood, gloves, protective clothing, safety glasses, hearing protection, and other site-required equipment.
- Previous experience in power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial construction.
- NCCER or other recognized welding certifications.
- Previous experience with pressure vessel or code welding.
- Experience working under ASME or other applicable industry codes.
- Ability to successfully complete client-specific welding qualification testing.
- Nuclear experience or able to gain access to nuclear sites.
