About the Role
Performance Heating & Cooling Services, LLC is looking for a skilled and dedicated HVAC-R
Refrigeration Installer to join our growing team in Columbus, OH. Reporting directly to the Installation Manager, you will be the hands-on expert responsible for bringing our residential refrigeration projects to life.
In this role, you will adapt your technical expertise to meet the unique needs of each project-installing, charging, testing, and commissioning equipment to ensure every system runs safely, efficiently, and reliably. Key Responsibilities
- Execute Installations: Perform high-quality installations of residential refrigeration systems and related equipment, ensuring structural integrity and optimal placement.
- Pipework & Connections: Expertly measure, cut, assemble, and connect refrigeration pipework.
- Refrigerant Handling: Safely and accurately charge systems with the appropriate refrigerants in strict adherence to environmental and safety standards.
- Quality Assurance: Rigorously test newly installed equipment, verify system performance, and troubleshoot any initial operational discrepancies.
- Commissioning: Complete the final commissioning of installations, ensuring the system is fully operational and ready for the customer.
- Compliance: Guarantee that all installations meet or exceed applicable local, state, and national HVAC/R safety and building codes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of proven, hands-on experience in refrigeration installation.
- Certification: Active EPA Section 608 Certification is mandatory.
- Mobility: Must be able to work in-person in the Columbus, OH local service area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Technical diploma or certificate in HVAC/R or Refrigeration Technology.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in brazing, soldering, and general refrigerant handling.
- Blueprint Reading: Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from technical blueprints, schematics, and design drawings.
- Code Knowledge: Deep understanding of current HVAC/R safety codes and industry best practices.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent diagnostic skills with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to on-site project challenges.
