This position is ideal for an experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician, HVAC Service & Sales Technician, HVAC Selling Technician, or Senior HVAC Service Technician with a proven background in troubleshooting, customer service, and presenting repair and replacement options.

This is NOT an entry-level or installer-only position. We are seeking experienced residential HVAC service professionals with demonstrated technical and customer-facing sales experience.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

As a Residential HVAC Service & Sales Technician, you'll be responsible for diagnosing HVAC systems, delivering quality service, educating homeowners, and presenting repair and replacement solutions that meet their needs.

HVAC Service & Diagnostics

• Independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential heating and cooling systems
• Service split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, air handlers, and other residential HVAC equipment
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, and airflow-related issues
• Perform heating and cooling system inspections and preventative maintenance
• Identify equipment failures, system inefficiencies, and performance concerns
• Recommend appropriate repairs and system improvements
• Complete accurate service documentation using ServiceTitan

Sales & Customer Solutions

• Conduct professional in-home HVAC evaluations
• Confidently explain diagnostic findings and repair recommendations to homeowners
• Present repair options, system upgrades, and HVAC replacement opportunities
• Provide clear estimates and help customers understand available solutions
• Identify legitimate opportunities for indoor air quality improvements, maintenance agreements, and equipment upgrades
• Build trust through honest recommendations and professional communication
• Work closely with sales and installation teams to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Contribute to individual and team performance goals while maintaining ASTAR's quality standards

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

WE WANT EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS WHO KNOW HOW TO SERVICE, TROUBLESHOOT & SELL RESIDENTIAL HVAC SOLUTIONS.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4+ years of hands-on Residential HVAC Service & Repair experience
• Proven experience independently diagnosing and repairing residential HVAC systems
• Previous experience presenting and selling HVAC repairs, upgrades, and replacement solutions
• Strong understanding of residential HVAC electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and mechanical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot heat pumps, gas furnaces, split systems, and air conditioning equipment
• Experience communicating repair estimates and equipment recommendations to homeowners
• Strong customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage service calls independently and make sound technical decisions
• Goal-oriented with a commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Comfortable using mobile technology and documenting service calls

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in a performance-based or commission-incentivized HVAC service role
• Experience using ServiceTitan
• Experience with HVAC replacement opportunities, repair conversion, and service agreement sales
• Previous experience as a Senior HVAC Service Technician or HVAC Selling Technician

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

• EPA Type II or Universal Certification - Required
• Active Texas TDLR HVAC Registration or applicable License - Required
• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
• Ability to meet applicable background and driving requirements
