Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls SME to support preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC and Building Management Systems (BMS) within a large-scale industrial manufacturing facility in Fremont, CA. This role is responsible for ensuring facility equipment, sensors, and control systems are operating efficiently and communicating properly with plant control infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, SCADA/BMS systems, instrumentation calibration, and industrial control systems maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on PLC-controlled equipment and Building Management Systems (BMS).
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to industrial automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
Test, calibrate, and configure, field instrumentation and sensors.
Conduct loop checks and verify proper operation of control systems and communication networks.
Troubleshoot temperature, pressure, flow, and other process instrumentation.
Support facility control systems by ensuring equipment and machinery are properly integrated and communicating with building control platforms.
Investigate and resolve system alarms, faults, and operational issues to minimize downtime.
Document maintenance activities, findings, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve system reliability and performance.
Required Qualifications
Experience working with PLC systems in an industrial, manufacturing, R&D facility environment.
Experience with Siemens S7, TIA Portal, U18, or comparable PLC platforms.
Hands-on experience with SCADA and/or Building Management Systems (BMS).
Experience calibrating, configuring, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control devices.
Strong troubleshooting skills related to sensors, controllers, and facility automation systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing or industrial production environments.
Experience supporting critical facility infrastructure and automation systems.
