Commercial HVAC Project Technician (Traveling) Georgia Travel Required


Innovien is supporting large-scale commercial facilities work across the Georgia market. We're hiring a Commercial HVAC Project Technician to join the field team on installations, replacements, retrofits, and system upgrades in occupied buildings where downtime is not an option. Travel is booked for you, and the seat comes with union-backed pay, benefits, and annual wage negotiations.


What You'll Do

  • Install, replace, and start up commercial HVAC equipment: RTUs, AHUs, split systems, heat pumps, pumps, condensers, VAVs, exhaust fans, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, VRFs, and related controls
  • Support project execution end to end: equipment surveys, scope verification, staging, installation support, deficiency identification, punch list, and closeout
  • Use BAS/BMS platforms to monitor equipment, place units in maintenance mode, verify alarms, and coordinate safe work execution
  • Troubleshoot HVAC, airflow, controls, electrical, and mechanical issues, escalating complex repairs when needed
  • Complete work orders, PM forms, inspection reports, and refrigerant logs accurately and on time


What You Bring

  • 3+ years of commercial HVAC construction, retrofit, or equipment replacement work in occupied facilities (healthcare, education, manufacturing, hospitality, or similar)
  • Hands-on installation experience across commercial equipment: RTUs, AHUs, split systems, heat pumps, fan coils, VAVs, chillers, cooling towers, boilers
  • Ability to read work orders, equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • BAS/BMS experience (Metasys, Honeywell, Siemens, Trane, or similar)
  • Chiller, cooling tower, pump, four-pipe, or central plant exposure
  • CMMS or work order system experience
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel with overnight stays
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship


Nice to Have

  • Experience directing or mentoring field technicians on a project
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, journeyman license, or local union trade credentials
  • Project mobilization, asset verification, or site transition experience
  • Vendor or subcontractor coordination in active operating environments


Details

  • Direct hire, full-time hourly (non-exempt) with time-and-a-half overtime
  • Field-based across Georgia, Monday through Thursday, (FRIDAY's OFF) + occasional weekend work, if desired
  • Hotel and travel accommodations booked for you, plus a daily per diem
  • Union benefits package: health and welfare, pension after vesting
