General Laborer - Fort Wayne, IN

NCW is looking for 2-4 General Laborers to support restoration and remediation projects in the Fort Wayne, IN area. This position involves water damage restoration, demolition, cleanup, and moving/setting up equipment. Candidates should be comfortable with physical labor, working in different environments, and following safety procedures.

Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay: $20-$23/hr
Per Diem: None - Local Position
Start: ASAP
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Duration: Temp-to-Hire; eligible for hire after 520 hours with MWR

Required Skills

• Must be local to the Fort Wayne area, preferably within approximately 45 minutes of the office
• Valid ID required and must match information submitted
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
• English-speaking or bilingual candidates welcome
• Spanish-speaking candidates will be considered if bilingual supervision is available onsite
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs
• Ability to remain on your feet for approximately 8 hours
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors
• Comfortable working in confined spaces
• Willingness to wear required PPE, including N-95 masks and full-face respirators when necessary

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform restoration and remediation work, primarily related to water damage
• Check moisture levels in building materials using a moisture meter
• Remove damaged building materials, including:
• • Flooring
  • Drywall
  • Cabinets
  • Insulation
  • Other affected materials
• Clean up and remove wet debris from job sites
• Clean crawl spaces, attics, and other confined areas affected by water damage
• Load and unload drying and restoration equipment
• Move and set up air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air filtration devices, and other equipment
• Assist with general site cleanup and material handling
• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Work around sewage and mold when required

Experience

• Previous restoration, remediation, construction, or general labor experience is a plus
• Must be comfortable performing physically demanding work
• Experience working in confined spaces is preferred
• Must be willing to work around water damage, sewage, mold, and other job-site hazards
