Join our General Laboratory team as a Laboratory Technical Specialist III, serving as a technical resource and subject matter expert for laboratory caregivers across the system. In this role, you'll combine hands-on laboratory expertise with quality oversight, troubleshooting, staff competency and continuous improvement to help ensure accurate, reliable and efficient laboratory operations.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical leadership for assigned laboratory sections, serving as a key resource for instrumentation, methodology, troubleshooting and pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic testing issues.
- Oversee quality assurance activities, including quality control review, method comparisons, analytic measurement range verification, corrective actions and preparation for CAP and Joint Commission inspections.
- Perform and maintain method validation and verification studies and assist with the research, implementation and documentation of new procedures and methodologies.
- Review and validate abnormal test results, troubleshoot complex instrumentation and testing issues, and help ensure accurate and timely reporting of laboratory results.
- Support the development of laboratory caregivers through competency assessments, training and cross-training while providing technical direction to MLS I and II and Specimen Processing caregivers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or equivalent.
- MLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification through an approved credentialing organization such as ASCLS, CLIS or AMT.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the area of expertise, including at least one year in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Subspecialty ASCP certification required.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques, procedures, instrumentation and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems, determine appropriate solutions and communicate effectively with laboratory caregivers, leadership, physicians and other clinical partners.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- No weekends. No holidays.

Hourly Pay Range: $42.11 - $67.37This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
