Job description

Job Description Job Description Lead the Work. Build the Team. Stay on the Tools.

At Renfrow Industrial, our projects move because our field leaders do. As an Industrial Electrical Crew Superintendent, you'll be the working lead who keeps crews safe, productive, and on schedule across industrial construction, maintenance, outage, shutdown, start-up, and plant modification work. You won't just point - you'll pick up tools, troubleshoot in the field, and model best practices when the job demands it.

A Day in the Life

Your morning kicks off with a plan: review one-lines and schematics, brief Journeymen, Top Helpers, and Helpers, and line up materials and access. Midday, you're pulling wire, checking terminations, coordinating LOTO with operations, and syncing with mechanical, piping, welding, rigging, millwright, fabrication, civil, structural, control panel, and maintenance teams. By afternoon, you're tracking productivity, clearing constraints, and updating the schedule so commissioning or tie-ins stay on track.

What You'll Build and Support
  • Conduit systems, cable tray, grounding and bonding
  • Wire pulls and terminations
  • MCCs, motor controls, VFDs, panels, transformers, and switchgear
  • Lighting, receptacles, control wiring, and instrumentation wiring

You'll read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, control drawings, panel schedules, equipment manuals, and specifications to keep quality and safety tight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor Journeyman Electricians, Top Helpers, Helpers, and assigned support personnel.
  • Work hands-on to support production, safety, quality, troubleshooting, and schedule.
  • Own field execution for shutdowns, outages, tie-ins, LOTO coordination, maintenance, start-up, commissioning, emergency service, facility expansions, new construction, and capital projects.
  • Coordinate electrical activities with adjacent trades and craft teams to remove conflicts and keep work flowing.
  • Track manpower, materials, productivity, constraints, quality issues, safety concerns, and schedule risks.
Pay & Benefits
  • $33 - $38 per hour, based on experience, license status, leadership capability, and project assignment.
  • Health Insurance.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • $1,000 Sign-On Bonus, where applicable by company policy.
  • Overtime opportunities based on project schedules, outages, shutdowns, and client needs.
Schedule
  • Monday through Thursday under normal conditions.
  • Typical 4x10 workweek.
  • Overtime, Fridays, weekends, nights, outages, shutdowns, and travel may be required based on client and project needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of industrial electrical experience.
  • Journeyman Electrician license required where required by jurisdiction, customer, or project.
  • Proven experience leading electrical crews and coordinating daily field work.
  • Strong command of NEC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, LOTO, energized work controls, industrial power distribution, motor controls, MCCs, VFDs, 480V systems, conduit, cable tray, terminations, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with instrumentation, controls, PLC/HMI interface, UL508A panel work, commissioning, and start-up preferred.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership, communication, planning, customer service, and crew coordination skills.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Regularly work in active industrial facilities, fabrication shops, construction sites, shutdowns, outages, and outdoor environments.
  • Wear required PPE; stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs, ladders, lifts, scaffolds, and platforms; bend, stoop, kneel, and access field work areas.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform hands-on electrical work as needed.
  • Work around energized-equipment hazards only when properly authorized, trained, protected, and controlled under applicable procedures.

Work hours may vary based on project schedules, shutdowns, tests, commissioning activities, incidents, and customer needs.
