Structural Welder

Job Description Job Description Position Summary: The Structural Welder is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of welding machines to join or connect various types of metal parts for metal structures. The incumbent selects weld equipment, interprets blueprints, and determines which specifications to apply. Work Location: Anchorage, Alaska Workplace Benefits:

Essential Job Functions:

• Analyzes blueprints and structural drawings
• Adheres to applicable welding methods in completion of structural fabrications
• Utilizes manual and mechanical processes to weld in various positions
• Calibrates welding tools and equipment according to welding procedure specifications
• Cleans and prepare metal work pieces using scrapers, chemical solutions and grinders to ensure a smooth and contaminant-free surface
• Cuts, repairs, and assembles building components to form complete structures
• Inspects and evaluates welds to ensure they are free of defect and adhere to specifications
• Conducts post-welding activities such as grinding, cleaning, and polishing of work pieces
• Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Work Experience: Two (2) years' experience in oil & gas or energy industries preferred
• License/Certifications: Current and valid driver's license
