Assistant Chief Engineer
Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-4:00 PM
Compensation: $100K+ based on experience
Work Arrangement: Onsite
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to help lead engineering operations for a large commercial property in Dallas. This position provides leadership across both tower engineering and plant operations, supporting a complex facility with 24/7 plant operations.
The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical expertise with proven leadership ability and is comfortable providing both technical direction and day-to-day operational leadership.
What You'll Do
- Provide leadership and oversight across tower engineering and plant operations
- Partner closely with Engineering Leads responsible for the tower and plant
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for complex mechanical and building systems
- Support the operation and maintenance of thermal storage plant systems
- Help oversee preventative maintenance, work orders and overall operational priorities
- Ensure building and plant systems operate safely, reliably and efficiently
- Coach, develop and support engineering team members while maintaining accountability and performance standards
- Coordinate priorities and communication between tower and plant operations
- Work effectively with vendors, tenants and internal stakeholders
- Remain involved in day-to-day operations while providing leadership and technical guidance
What We're Looking For
- Strong mechanical background with experience supporting complex building or plant systems
- Experience with thermal storage plants/systems
- Previous engineering leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong understanding of commercial building engineering and/or central plant operations
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical direction
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance people management and operational responsibilities
- Experience within a large commercial facility, high-rise, hospital, hotel, data center or similarly complex environment preferred
