This role supports critical business systems by ensuring database reliability, optimizing performance, automating processes, and providing production support. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to operational excellence. Administer, monitor, and maintain SQL Server environments across development, QA, staging, and production systems in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments Configure, patch, upgrade, secure, and support database servers while performing backups, recovery validation, release deployments, and scheduled maintenance activities Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to performance, availability, storage, connectivity, failed jobs, and system outages, providing end-to-end support and root cause analysis Partner with development teams to optimize database performance through query tuning, schema design improvements, indexing strategies, and execution plan analysis Support and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring business continuity and compliance with recovery objectives Develop and enhance automation, monitoring, reporting, and operational processes using PowerShell, T-SQL, and other scripting tools Lead and contribute to DBA team initiatives, including migrations, upgrades, patching projects, documentation, technical mentoring, and participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent degree preferred, with Microsoft SQL Server or Azure certifications, a plus Three to five years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server administration experience supporting production and non-production environments Strong knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, backups, recovery, security, performance tuning, and day-to-day operational support Experience with high availability and disaster recovery technologies, including Always On Availability Groups, failover clustering, log shipping, replication, and backup-based recovery solutions Experience supporting SQL Server ecosystem technologies such as SSIS, SSRS, SQL Agent, ETL processes, Azure SQL services, and database monitoring platforms Proficiency with PowerShell, T-SQL, or similar scripting languages to automate administrative tasks, monitoring, reporting, and operational processes Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, storage, networking, compliance requirements, change management, incident management, and disaster recovery best practices Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills with the ability to document procedures, support stakeholders, manage competing priorities, mentor team members, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment The pay range reflects the potential base salary range for this role. Individual base pay is determined by various factors such as relevant experience and skills, and the scope and responsibilities of the position. Pay Range $80,000 - $95,000
