Lead and grow Layin Pipe Plumbing's service department.

Layin Pipe Plumbing Tempe, AZ Full-Time $100,000-$140,000 + Performance Bonus

PAY: $100K-$140K + bonus
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 7 AM-5 PM
VEHICLE: Take-home truck + fuel card

LEAD THE DEPARTMENT AND OWN THE RESULTS

We're looking for a hands-on Plumbing Manager to lead daily operations, support our technicians, protect job profitability, and help grow the service department.

This role works directly with ownership and is responsible for the details that drive performance: reviewing jobs and estimates, keeping the schedule moving, coaching technicians, resolving customer concerns, and making sure Housecall Pro reflects what is happening in the field.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Revenue and profitability. Track revenue, gross margin, average ticket, close rates, labor efficiency, callbacks, and department goals. Take action when performance is off target.
• Daily job oversight. Review active and completed jobs for accurate scope, pricing, job costing, photos, documentation, and opportunities to follow up on open estimates.
• Scheduling and dispatch. Review the next-day schedule, routing, job priorities, and technician capacity. Work with the office to keep the board moving efficiently.
• Technician leadership. Coach plumbers and apprentices, conduct ride-alongs, support job-site questions, lead training, and set clear expectations for performance and professionalism.
• Customer recovery. Respond quickly to escalated customer concerns, communicate honestly, document resolutions, and protect the company relationship.
• Quality and safety. Maintain high standards for workmanship, code compliance, OSHA practices, job documentation, and callback prevention.
• Trucks and materials. Coordinate truck inventory, tools, purchase orders, and vendor pricing so technicians have what they need without unnecessary material waste.
• Systems and reporting. Keep Housecall Pro accurate, review timecards and job notes, communicate priorities to the team, and provide concise performance updates to ownership.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Five or more years of hands-on plumbing experience; residential service experience is required, and commercial experience is a plus
• Three or more years of management or supervisory experience leading technicians or a service department
• Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred, but not required
• Proven ability to coach, motivate, and hold a field team accountable through clear expectations, performance reviews, and corrective action when needed
• Working knowledge of job costing, labor tracking, material costs, service KPIs, and department profitability
• Comfortable using Housecall Pro or similar field-service software, Google Workspace, and performance reports
• Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through
• Valid Arizona driver's license and insurable driving record

• $100,000-$140,000 in annual compensation plus performance bonuses tied to department profitability and growth
