POSITION SUMMARY

The Utility Worker is an entry-level, catch-all maintenance and facility support role that keeps the production floor running smoothly, from restocking supplies and changing light bulbs to moving pallets with a forklift. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role is well suited to someone with basic mechanical aptitude who is reliable, safety-minded, and comfortable handling a wide variety of hands-on tasks each day.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Facility Upkeep & General Support

• Restock and maintain restroom, breakroom, and production floor supplies, such as paper towel and toilet paper dispensers
• Perform basic housekeeping and janitorial tasks throughout the facility to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Perform minor facility repairs, including work at height using ladders or lifts

Material Handling & Forklift Operation

• Operate a forklift to move pallets and materials between production, warehouse, and shipping areas (training and certification provided)
• Assist with staging materials for production as needed
• Safely transport tools, equipment, and supplies throughout the facility

Maintenance Support

• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor and maintenance technicians with basic repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment upkeep
• Perform minor mechanical, electrical, or plumbing tasks within the scope of training and skill level
• Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, and facility issues to the Maintenance Supervisor

Production Floor Assistance

• Respond to ad hoc requests from production and other departments to support day-to-day operations
• Assist with moving equipment, staging materials, and general labor tasks as directed
• Support facility improvement projects and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn hands-on maintenance and facility tasks
• Comfortable working at heights using ladders or lifts, and able to lift/move materials up to 50 lbs
• Willingness to obtain forklift certification; company-provided training available
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently across a variety of tasks with minimal supervision
• Basic hand tool use and general repair experience
• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual as defined in 22 CFR 120.15), as this role may require access to export-controlled technical data subject to ITAR/EAR

Preferred

• Prior experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or facilities environment
• Existing forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial trucks

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role works throughout the facility, including the production floor, warehouse, and shop areas, with exposure to noise and moving machinery and equipment. Requires frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and lifting or moving materials up to 50 lbs. Requires use of PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed footwear. Minimal travel required.
