Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor-Buildings and Grounds is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Facilities Maintenance-Buildings and Grounds (B&G) Department and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance of Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) facilities and related assets. This position plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work of Facilities Maintenance-B&G staff; oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs; manages work orders through the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system; monitors contractor performance; and ensures compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The Facilities Maintenance-B&G Supervisor is responsible for establishing work priorities, allocating resources, developing staff, monitoring budgets, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining HRT facilities in a safe and operational condition. While the primary responsibility of this position is supervision and coordination of maintenance operations, the incumbent is also expected to perform skilled maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting work as needed to support operations, respond to emergencies, address staffing shortages, complete complex repairs, and ensure timely completion of critical maintenance activities.
