SUMMARY: The Mission Engagement Associate manages the IPAA awards and oversees workplace and civic giving. This includes holiday workplace giving, third-party events, and in-kind giving. The scope of work includes community outreach, volunteer coordination, event support, and donor portfolio management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop, manage, and execute cost effective strategies for workplace giving and civic giving, in-kind contributions and specified fundraising campaigns. Maximize net revenue in relation to development expenses. Includes volunteer engagement, related outreach activities, public speaking, and cultivation of community-based giving opportunities.
2. Manage and oversee a portfolio of 75-100 workplace giving, civic, and online donors, including research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to build sustainable relationships through personalized communication, timely follow-up, meaningful engagement, and ongoing stewardship
3. Coordinate community outreach and public speaking engagement opportunities to facilitate conversations about the effects and root causes of poverty and systematic inequities to increase visibility, awareness, and support for Sound Generations mission.
4. Lead holiday workplace giving campaigns. Partner with department and community partner sites to ensure timely distribution of holiday gifts.
5. Collaborate with the Mission Engagement Manager to establish and grow events, volunteer opportunities, workplace giving initiatives, in-kind contributions, and third-party event support with an emphasis on developing mutually beneficial community relationships.
6. In collaboration with the Mission Engagement Manager, establish and execute strategies to recruit, cultivate, engage, and steward volunteers for fundraising activities, with opportunities to develop volunteers into long-term supporters and advocates of Sound Generations.
7. Coordinate internal and external brand stewardship, including website updates, branded merchandise procurement and inventory, and coordination to ensure consistent application of brand standards across communications and materials.
8. Oversee organizational advertising activities and support institutional giving outreach while cultivating relationships with businesses, civic organizations, community stakeholders, and other institutions to increase visibility, engagement, philanthropic support.
9. Lead procurement and coordination of donated and purchased goods and services for the Golden Gala, including soliciting and securing silent auction and in-kind donations, curating and purchasing wine, décor, and other event materials. Coordinate with vendors and community supporters to ensure a cohesive, high quality, and mission-aligned event experience.
10. Oversee the annual IPAA nomination and awards process strengthening communications and relationship-building with participants, nominators, and community stakeholders. Identify opportunities to improve and increase participation and ensure an equitable and inclusive ways experience for all eligible participants.
11. Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality while upholding Sound Generations DEI values at their designated worksite to support business operations, team goals and the public, including participation in department and organizational activities, meetings, and trainings.
12. Assume and effectively discharge other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position may supervise volunteers.

RELATIONSHIPS:

1. Supervised by the Mission Engagement Manager.
2. Develop and maintain good relationships with client, staff, volunteers, and persons utilizing the same facilities and the general public.

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
2. Two (2) years' experience in fundraising and/or project management.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Demonstrate skills that promote diversity, equity and inclusion in a culturally diverse environment.
2. Ability to work in a remote environment and effectively use web-based applications and productivity software including Zoom, Teams, Microsoft Office, Canva, etc.
3. Ability to create compelling, authentic, and captivating presentations to educate, inform, engage, and inspire donors and others to meet the organization's funding needs.
4. Valid Washington Driver's License and access to an insured vehicle.
5. Ability to develop and maintain good relationships and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external audiences via in person, phone, email, and virtual platforms.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with others and work independently as appropriate.
7. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and produce quality results with attention to detail.
8. Extensive knowledge of the Pacific Northwest funding community, particularly Seattle and King County.
9. Ability to work with ethnically, culturally, racially, socio-economically diverse individuals.
10. Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with a diverse range of audiences including board members, volunteers, internal staff, donors, executives, potential funding partners and all constituencies.
11. Continually learn and utilize a variety of information systems and software.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English language proficiency sufficient to read and comprehend organizational documents, write reports and other correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with persons, including those who are hard of hearing. Speak effectively before large and small groups including internal and external audiences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and spreadsheet formulas.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to prioritize, problem-solve. Ability to apply common sense understanding and deal effectively with issues as they arise in the normal course of daily business, including off-site events.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Depending on assignment, may be required to: (A) sit at a workstation for prolonged periods of time, speak, hear in person/phone/virtually, (B) use hands to sort, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms, (C) move about the working environment, (D) lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, (E) have repetitive arm, hand and finger movements, (F) work in an office or home setting with frequent in-person interaction and numerous interruptions, (G) drive a vehicle.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Depending on assignment, work environment may include: (A) a quiet and moderate noise level, (B) an increased level of noise and high people traffic, (C) travel to affiliated Senior Centers and off-site locations, (D) work from home.
